Lake
Keowee is one of the most beautiful fresh water lakes in the
entire South offering beautiful mountain views, sparkling blue
water and year-round boating. The lake is located near Seneca,
a small town in the northwest corner of South Carolina. Lake Keowee is located just 45 miles from Greenville,
SC which is the states largest city. The lake is fed from
nearby mountain streams of gorgeous clear water. |
Lake Keowee consist of about 18,000 acres with approximately
300 miles of shoreline. Very little of the shoreline has been
developed which leaves the lake uncrowded and perfect for
boating, sailing, water skiing, fishing and other activities.
Lake Keowee is owned by Duke Energy Corporation which controls
the lake frontage and water level. Lake Keowee property owners
can own to the waterfront which is different than the Corps of
Engineering restrictions such as on Lake Hartwell.
At Lake Keowee the list of leisure activities is seemingly
endless. Local attractions include Jocassee State Park (15
miles) and golf courses such as Cross Creek Plantation. You
are just minutes away from white water rafting as well has
hiking, camping and trout fishing. With over 400,000 acres of
